FPPC# 1452359

As a born and raised resident of San Clemente, I know that the foundations of this city are based on the good-natured hearts of its citizens. Even with almost 65,000 residents, we still maintain that small-town feel. My hope is to continue that spirit of camaraderie in our local government. If elected, I will enact policies that benefit ALL residents of San Clemente and focus on local issues.

benefit all residents of

San Clemente and

Focus on LOCAL ISSUES.”

Meet Mark

Mark Enmeier was born in San Clemente, went to elementary school at Concordia, and middle school at Shorecliffs. He grew up playing and surfing at SC beaches, volunteering at San Clemente Presbyterian, and was the Drum Major of the SCHS marching band. He graduated in 2002 from SCHS as a Valedictorian. He later attended college at UC Santa Barbara, receiving a Bachelor's degree in History and a Masters in Education.

In 2008 he moved back to SC and has been a high school history teacher for the last 15 years, spending the last 7 at SCHS. During that time, he married his wife Stacey and had two wonderful children. Mark is still heavily involved with his congregation at San Clemente Presbyterian Church. He was an active Elder there from 2015-2018.

In 2019 he wanted to learn how to be the change that he hoped to see, so he enrolled at UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy with an emphasis on Public Policy. He received a Master’s in Advanced Studies in International Affairs, was Valedictorian, and published a paper in the International Journal of Administration and Policy Research.

Now he wants to serve the people of San Clemente by becoming a City Council Member. He knows the spirit and soul of this city and will represent the ideals of being “One Town, One Team”.

Bringing Civility
Back to the City

The political discourse of our city council meetings is not representative of the spirit of San Clemente. There are ways to have political debates and disagreements without continually dividing our town. When elected Mark will represent all San Clementians, regardless of political party or ideology. The focus will remain on city issues, not national politics.

E-Bike Safety San Clemente Beach

We have a growing E-bike community. Mark himself rides to work at San Clemente High School every day. It is apparent though that motorists and bicyclists are both having issues sharing the road. The city has a responsibility to expand bike lane access and work with law enforcement to enforce road safety laws on bicyclists.

Better Streets

San Clemente Trolley at North Beach

Our Trolley system is a wonderful addition to our city. Let’s expand this public transportation further so that more of our residents can enjoy its benefits. The line should extend east through Pico and south past Del Mar. This will reduce our carbon footprint, lessen traffic, and create public access for more of San Clemente.

Improve Infrastructure

We need to do what we can as a city to update the aging infrastructure around our town. Our public spaces, such as our restrooms, T-Street Overpass, and beach trail sewer pumps, need some desperate TLC. For the people of our city, and as a public good, we need to do better.

Preserve our

Greatest Assets

As a city that is built on a slice of heaven, we need to do our part to protect the beauty around us. While thinking globally, we can act locally to reduce our carbon footprint and protect our beaches, trails, and parks. The city has the power to take action now, such as joining a Clean Energy Alliance and allowing residents to make their own choice on where they want their energy to come from. The city can also add EV charging stations downtown, adding solar panels on city buildings to lower energy costs, and lower our use of single-use plastics.

Let’s Solve Homelessness in San Clemente

Our city can do more to support the services in place to end homelessness in San Clemente. We need to be coming alongside our non-profit organizations, such as Family Assistance Ministries, to support them in their fight against destitution. They, and organizations like them, work to give a hand up, not a handout. Mark will fight to make sure that they will always have a place in San Clemente.

Our city can also do more to support the community outreach program by giving them the funds they need to assist both the transient population back to their city of origin and to help our permanent homeless find shelter.
